Makin' Waves Mobile Swim School is a small professionally run provider of mobile swimming, running and motor –skills development lessons. Founder and owner, Duane Cannell is a PE Teacher and an accredited swimming instructor with well over 20 years experience. Makin' Waves Mobile Swim School offers mobile swimming lessons during October – April and Cross-Country, Athletics and Motor Skills programs during April - September. Swimming lessons may also be conducted in heated swimming pools during the colder months. Duane has been coaching swimming to both children and adults since 1989. Duane is also a sports PE Teacher and co-coordinator, organising sporting carnivals, major events and motor program workout stations. In 1990-1991, Duane competed in the Commonwealth Games Trials and Pan Pacific Trials, making the finals in the 50m - 200m breast/stroke events. In 1993, Duane represented Australia in the World Triathlon Championships held in Manchester, UK achieving a 25th world ranking. Currently, Duane competes regularly in open water swimming events (1km – 5km), winning many of his age group races and regularly competes in the elite division. Duane’s experience and wealth of knowledge gives him a rare insight into all aspects of swimming development, from water safety through to stroke correction. Duane’s goal is to encourage children to have a life long relationship with the water by providing a high quality swimming program in a fun- filled and safe environment. Duane also offers exceptional customer service, with the ability to communicate and build a positive rapport with your child. |
